The "Today Show" and The Most awful Consumer Mattress Advice During the History of The World
I just go through an article by consumer information correspondent Janice Liberman. The girl was doing a story in mattresses for consumers, specially, how much you need to spend and the difference between high end and low end mattresses. Here is one thing she said:
"The main difference in an $800 dollar king size bed and a $2, 000 one may not be the fact that great, but salespeople can inundate you with "facts" about foam, coil count, and the quality of the king size bed ticking. (Who looks at your company's ticking anyway? )" A tad bit more...Amerisleep beddingThis is one of the grossest misrepresentations of the mattress industry I possess ever seen.
Sure, some 2000 mattress and a great 800 mattress do the same thing. They are a place to place your head at night.
It's the just like a Hyundai and some Corvette both get you from point A to point B, but you have much more benefits obviously.
I had ask her what type of automotive she drives. I question whether she drives an financial system car or a luxury family car. She probably has some thing nicer than an economic system car because if you can afford luxury you should treat yourself to it. Consumers should buy the nicest mattress they can afford and not short change themselves because sleep is important as well as back support.
Janice you aren't going to doing consumers a service, what you are doing a disservice by making an already difficult purchase much more confusing.
So , I am going to carry out consumers a service by describing the point you refused to tell the customers on.
"Who talks about your ticking anyway? inch
Who looks at your within garments, seriously, why carry out people buy 100% underwear or silk underwear, I don't know anything about women's lingerie- yet I know those items could get excessive too. What is the between buying a 100% natural cotton shirt and polyester shirt? Or a super 180s wool suit and a fabric-made suit? Simple the polyester-made gets you HOT!
Air mattresses that are made of mostly unnatural materials (polyester rayon will make you sleep warmer too) they do not breath was perfectly as the higher quality ticking cotton and cashmeres-, We read in a survey for sleep savvy magazine that it is one of the main concerns buyers have about their mattress is that it will keep them at a comfortable temperature.
Well I how to start anyone today who would buy a car without air conditioners and yeah it costs more and it'll still get you from point A to point B but you could be more comfortable.
"Salespeople will inundate you with "facts" regarding foam'
Ok, yes mattress salesmen can be a bit boring when they go into "foam' specifications I'll give you that- is actually not the most exciting conversation. Especially since you can't genuinely see on the inside what most likely buying. But when you stop and think about it aside from the ticking and also the thin fiber underneath the ticking the foam is the most important the main mattress- the foam not only establishes the fell, but it may be the closest part of the mattress on your body for the next 10-15 years! You might want to get quality memory foam. No it's not cheap. Certainly it costs more- not only because (believe it or simply not) millions scientists make investments millions of dollars and years of research to design the right foam that feels good and lasts a very long time
Which brings me to the next point Ms. Liberman decided not to address:
I am going to introduce such an important term to you that you ought to write it down and bring it in to the mattress store with you. The concept of a comfort life!
What's the fact that? Most mattresses that are $800 feel great in the shop, and yes $800 could get you a decent mattress.
Although like most high use durable goods each year it will look a bit "less new' naturally.
Comfort life is the beds ability to maintain that innovative feel luxury mattresses accomplish this better than the mid-grade air mattresses. Luxury mattresses have some stronger innerspring and more long lasting foams- that feel nice, like they do in the shop for a much longer time.
Learn why this article is just absurd is that it doesn't even address back support!
Scientists have acknowledged that sleeping for a bad mattress is damaging your back. Most Us citizens suffer from back pain a good king size bed will aid in relieving that pain
What helps with back again support in a mattress -Strong inner spring this can both mean a higher coil matter or a lower coil matter with thicker coils. -In addition the premium and luxury mattresses have precise technologies for specific problems- like some of the memory foam mattresses that fill in and support the hard to reach lower degernative area.
Thinking about this one topic causes you to see the weakness is usually Ms. Liberman's argument.
In the end Janice nice try however no cigar you kinda missed the boat on this just one.
If consumers followed your company's advice we would all be getting cheap comfortable mattress the fact that didn't address the consumer requirements. You're biggest flaw usually you assume that all customers shop just like you. Every purchaser is unique and has unique wants. Some consumers needs mattresses that have a high motion separation index, some require beds with more support, some want edge support some are players, some are single, some are lovers, some have allergies. And a good mattress expert is going to elicit and help appeal to these kind of needs.
The point is our industry has something for every consumer- whether $500 dollars as well as $5000 Some consumers have special needs and involve special mattresses these often cost a bit more- and if you have ever had the experience of a great night sleep a really great full night of sleep you know I am telling the truth.a
